Lani was born in the far reaches of the United States, in a sparsely-populated state called Canada. She grew up in Richmond (also lovingly referred to by its residents as Ditchmond). It's a little island, and a bridge length away from Vancouver.
As a child, Lani had three ambitions 1) Become Prime Minisiter of Canada 2) Become an astronaut 3) Work at Dairy Queen. Sadly, she never did fulfill any of her childhood goals, though she did fill that void with a rockin' New Kids on the Block compilation cassette, and a blindingly cool collection of hyper colour tshirts.
Lani's first job offer came in 1996. At the rip old age of 16, she would embark on her first career of shoveling popcorn and pursading,nay, encouraging patrons to supersize their popcorn (Dairy Queen wasn't hiring). She worked there for two years with her good friend Jacklin. Together they invited creative ways to pass time...for instance, Lani never got tired of watching Jacklin eat 10 jalapenos at once (nacho condiments). Always impressive.
When she wasn't working, she could usually be found hanging out with the likes of Nicole & Shannon. Shannon makes a mean cup of coffee, which is a good thing because those girls can talk through the night.
Lani once lived with Ally for a month. Which was fun, together they proved that sleep isn't really necessary for human survival. All you need is a hot plate of yakisoba (cooked in a pan) and some good tunes to get you through the week.
Lani spent a good proportion of her childhood addicted to her online Star Trek RPG (role playing game). To this day, she continues to participate on that site. Star Trek friends would describe her as, "A Star Trek geek that's part drama junkie, gun slinger, medical doctor and a great friend"(quote curtesy of one of Lani's best friends, John Heisel).
Although Lani still dreams of one day going to space, her ambitions have slightly altered. She now hopes to 1) Get fit before her wedding 2) Take up a new martial art 3) Make a great game for the Nintendo DS.
(Lani would also like to announce that she was using the Nintendo Wii to keep fit, WAY before Jessica Alba did, even though Jessica is in better shape than her right now. But not for long Jessica Alba. Not for long.)
